How to make a video file into winrar please?

Hi guys

Im struggling I have a video AVI file of 10MB and I want to make it compressed by winrar and I have tried but I have no idea how?

If any one please can expalin to me step by step how to do it so I can send the file easily by msn or email.

just right click and add to archive for email I would set compression to best

 

Thank you Phil but dose it requires specific format to be able to send to rar file because some message comes saying unknowing format or damaged for some videos I was going to put in rar file. With AVI format is working fine but in MPEG and 3GPP Is not working :-(

Do I have to convert my videos to AVI so I can put them into rar?

any file can be archived the only things that comes to mind are some file name problem are there any strange characters in the file name?
the file is use in someway you havent got it loaded in a player?
A hdd problem the file cant be read from the drive have you scanned your drive for errors lately ?
or a faulty winrar instalation try uninstalling and reinstalling the program

 

Thank you phil It was winrar instulation fault so I uninstalled it and reinstalled back and its fine now. Thanks for help
