You have to limit your upload speed to 80% of your download speed.

    Go here -> www.dslreports.com/stest

And do a speed test. Whatever you get for your upload, divide the number by 8 (eg. 402kbps divided by 8 ) and the number you get ie. 24, 25, etc. put it in your global max upload rate.

hey man, i have issues with BT downloads too.. I'm using BitLord and have set my global upload to 16K. Well, i am using a d-link g604t wireless modem, BUT, i'm wired to it. I've set the modem to allow outgoing and incoming ports 6881-6999 on any ip address. I've set zone alarm to allow those too. but when i went to check at grc.com, my ports were still stealthed..... Help?

    Thanks man....

Do not use ports 6881-6889 as most ISP and torrent trackers block these ports and dont allow connection, switch to something random like for eg. 44056. If you still need more help use the Bitcomet Guide in my signature.

Mike, you made a mistake, if you just divide by 8 that is still 100% of the upload bandwith, you have to multiply by .8 afterwards to get 80% :)

I did the Speed Test you recommended and my speed was...2471down, and 356 up. What does down and up mean here?

divide by 8 and that is your max upload and download speeds.

ok, I did that and my upload speed was 42.2 when I multiplied my upload speed and then divided my result by 0.8. I also read ur guide but I still don't know how to do the port forward thing, I went to the website and still didn't understand.

Im sorry but do you have a router?

    Firewall?

By the way i did the math, 80% of your max upload is 36 KB/s not 42.

    Yes I have a router its a 2wire Homeportal 1000HG.
    No I do not have a firewall...yet.

You said you did the math, but I never put the actual upload speed I told you that 42.2 was the result. How could you have done the math without me telling you the upload speed?

sorry. For some reason i did the test again i got about the right range.

also, is there spyware on DRTCP?
i'm really cautious about it because I've never heard of it and i really don't want any viruses or spyware.

i also put the upload speed 80% of the speed test, but it seems like my download speed is slower.
    the test says:
    Your download speed : 1174 kbps or 146.7 KB/sec.
    Your upload speed : 299 kbps or 37.4 KB/sec.

and right now my upload is 20 and my download is only 6.

thanks! Also, does Bitcomet download with my full speed? because it's been going at zero and one even though my full speed is higher.
Um, also is anyone also having this trouble? ever since i downloaded DR. TCP, my download speed(from the test) has been going down. It used to be 141 KB/sec but now it's only 30 KB/sec.

BitTorrent varies. If there arent a lot of seeds, your speed won't reach it's maximum.

oh! cuz i followed all the steps and everything and even if i had 11 seeders, I'd only be at 11 KB/sec.
