I have been told that you can make your dvd drive region free wth a certain peice of software, is this true? If so what is the software and where can I get it from? I have 4 changes left. Thanks
This is a free one.... http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_tools/dvd43.cfm There are others that cost a bit... http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_tools/dvd_region_free_lite.cfm http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_rippers/anydvd.cfm These don't actually make your drive region free. They just remove region protections as well as CSS encryptions from the disc when you load it in the drive.
Will anydvd be able to make my drive read discs from region 1 dvd's even though it is set to region 2? Thank you for replying
You will not be disappointed with AnyDVD. I use it all the time. I backed up around 13 movies this weekend and did not have a single issue with any of them. Great product.
Or you could always get a Regionfree Firmware for your dvdrom drive. NOTE - Regionfree firmware only half the equation ; you still need software such as AnyDVD to control your dvd player software's region setting.
