How to move a *.mp4 file from hard drive to DVD?

    I can create *.mp4 files on my hard drive and I can create *.mp4 files on a DVD-r using Nero Recode 2. What I would like to do is create a *.mp4 file on my hard drive and then move/copy it to a DVD and have it still remain a mp4 file. Everything I have tried has failed. I have Nero 6 and Nero Recode 2 to work with.

    try a program like, Sonic RecordNow see if it works ?
