I cannot open RS's .avi videos. I downloaded all four of AfterDawn's suggested freeware to correct the problem. Nothing worked. I tried the G Spot [and other recommended program] for analyzing the problem. I am not savvy enough to understand/use. I would buy one of the 'conversion' programs I have seen advertised on the Internet, but how do I determine aforehand which one is best/will work??

Any help gratefully appreciated. Thank you Beppo *email removed by creaky*

Can you tell us what exactly you downloaded and installed? Also, post the G-Spot info back here?

Edit out your email address too, that's against the rules ;-)

    Thx for reply. I installed:

    K-Lite Codec Pack
    Cole 2K Media Codec Pack
    X Codec Pack
    XP Codec Pack

    AviCodec
    GSpot

With the exception of GSpot, After downloading the above [one at a time], I uninstalled them. I have Windows XP, if that helps. Post the GSpot info? Jeez...I have no idea of how to do that! Sorry.

I apologize for listing my email address...did not know against rules.

Well, what does G-Spot tell you about the file?

Do you have the DivX codec installed?
