Hi all Iv downloaded some films using utorrent turned them to iso files and burned them with imgburn Great!! untill i find out that some will play in the dvd player and some will just say skip file since prescan failed iv tried and tried and cant get anywhere if you could HELP!!! it would be great Thanks
The burned disks that fail on the standalone - do they play ok on the PC. I assume that if you are in North America, the disks are NTSC and not PAL.
Sorry no i am in the uk the disks that DO NOT work in the stand alone do not work on the pc the disks that do work on the stand alone do work on the pc
The iso that you created (the one you subsequently burned to the disk) does that play ok on the PC? If the ImgBurn log for the session shows no problems, then try a different brand of media (Taiyo-Yuden or Verbatim).
You said you downloaded and burned the iso's to disk. Did you check to see if they are ntsc format? Since you said you are in the uk, you may have to convert them to pal format.
No atter the iso itself does not play but the origanal file did img burn says there is no problem but i noticed some of the downloads have more folders with them than others would that be a prob?.Because i noticed the ones with more files seem to play and the 1s with less dont ? rtm27 yes i downloaded them turned them in to iso then burned them
The original (downloaded) file that plays ok. What type or container is it. Drag it into MediaInfo to find out. A typical download might be an .avi file around 700MB.
well once i converted the first movie and burned it and it worked fine i decided to convert them all then i deleted the old files dont think i should of done that now tho ya i think they was all avi about 700mb
You still have the iso file (but it doesn't play on the PC) try to open it with DVD Shrink (File > Open Disc Image. It should load and play back in the lower window pane.
It isn't a valid DVD. The program that created the ISO messed up. Possibly mounting the iso on a Virtual Disk and/or trying to open the DVD disk using IsoBuster might recover the video. It's easier downloading the source files and starting from scratch.
Ok then so i need to re download them again and start again What is the best way and the quickist way from getting them from u torrent to my tv with out yousing x2dvd because that takes me 60-70mins to convert doing it th iso way i could do it in 20 mins and there on disk to lol
I don't know any way to do it fast. DVD Flick or FAVC are both good - and they both include ImgBurn if you want to burn the disk - I would save it to iso or folder format and test it before burning anyway.
Ok thanks very much for your help just 1 more thing to bother u with when i selct a folder to convert or burn do i select all the files in the folder or just the 1 with the vid on it ??
