This is how you do it without all the converting BS. Simply go into Decryptor or shrink and change the settings around to the idea of no 1gb file splitting on shrink and movie only on decryptor. After doing this then rename the VOB file whatever the movie is and change the extension to mpg. Then simply transfer this to a storage medium and hook into the PS3. Then press triangle on the controller to dispaly all and whoilla there you go. NOTE: This new file will not play on a computer.

Its according to if you have to shrink the movie. Get an external formatted with FAT32 and you have a max file size 4.2 gigs and most dvd movie only files are smaller than this so you will not have any compression/no loss in quality.
I have used dvd decrypter as well as dvd shrink. I purchased DVDFAB a while back and have no faults like I have had with the other two mentioned. All I do is back up any dvd. Once backed up on any blank dvd media it has no prob playing on my Ps3.
we are talking about playind backups off of the hard drive not a backup dvd ive never had a problem doing that if u do what he says then u can play a movie off the hdd
i have a movie went into shrink changed the setting to no 1 gb splitting.then changed the extension to mpg.so now its xxx xxx xxxx.mpg dragged it into my 80gb ipod.plugged it into my ps3 clicked play THEN!! "this video cannot be played (80028801)" so i said to myself mabye it can't play it off my ipod so i copied onto the ps3 and i get the same error?? plz help ps my ps3 is 1.50 pal
i am havin a problem with playin backups in the ps3 as well. but it mostly only happens with memorex dvd+r dl discs or other dual layers. i am using dvd decrypter, and i also tried fab platinum. any suggestions? thanks
