Everytime I have an mkv file, I can't play it properly. When playing on VLC, the frames freezes (also on WMP). So do I need a codec or wat? (I have K-lite codec).
What is inside those MKV files? What codec? HD video?Maybe your system(CPU, video card...) is not capable of handling it. Try CoreAVC instead of K-Lite. http://forums.extremeoverclocking.com/t257135.html
When I have both K-lite and CCCP on the comp, the file play smoothly on WPC. Just installed AVCcodec, it's playing better but the sound is not as smooth (cpu at 100%). I guess my cpu is too weak. CoreAVC is not free though, but the codec 8.6 has it so that's what i'm using.
What are the specs of your PC? Run the MKV through GSpot or Video Inspector and it will tell you what codec/resolution your video was encoded with. Read up some info here. Try to find a codec pack/filter that works best and keep with that, too many can make a mess. http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/how_to_play_mkv.cfm
