    I have a V710

I'm able to DOWNLOAD (and pay) for MP3 clips but cant play them as ringers. They have an icon beside them of a lock.

:( Please help, its expensive and useless if I can't play them as ringers which i thought I'd be able to do.

the lock has nothing to do with your ability to use the mp3 as a ringtone

When I try to set them as ringers though, it does not work.

For all other mp3's (those built into my phone) I can play them as ringers.

the phone is even capable of acting as an mp3 player with an expandable mem card.

there must be a way to play these as my ringtone?

    Thanks for your reply though.

If anyone could help that'd be awesome. Thanks again everyone.

First of all, make sure you are trying to apply custom ringtones to the V710's phone book, and not your sim card. Second of all, have you tried loading your own mp3 files on to your phone via bluetooth or a data cable? I also know of some sites that let you upload files via http, and download them via the browser on your phone, but if its full mp3's, id reccomend using bluetooth or a data cable. Hope this helps.

How can I add them to the phone book? They are being downloaded and going under ringtones...

Second, I cant upload my own mp3 files...there is no way to do it for me. I have mobile phone tools installed and I have my data cable. But the only features it gives me is sending sms msgs or copying my phone book.

Thanks very much, I really wish I could upload and just download everything like everyone else :(
