TV is also PAL. and I got few games from America. To play NTSC games by running HDLoader.. 1. Does swapmagic enable ps2 to play NTSC games? 2. Does memory booting enable ps2 to play? 3. Does NTSC TV and PAL-NTSC Converter enable ps2 to play? 4. Does Multisystem TV enable ps2 to play? Thanks.
Yes... Swap magic should fix your problem. I have NTSC versions of several games running on my PAL playstation. You have to use Swapmagic to boot the HDLoader software. For reference this works with HD Advance too, I tested it with my buddies CD-R copy of "Free HDLoader" and it worked. You must make sure you select PAL as your loading type instead of normal.
hi, you need the discs and the slide card. 1. load the swap magic 2.open tray with slide card 3.put in NTSC game 4.push tray closed 5.slide card to the left 6.press X or [] to load the game. !!thecraigc!!
You could also buy a converter for your TV. But if you have Swap Magic 3.3 then it will play both. Although the very bottom of the screen may be cut off for some games.
Sorry.. I'm so confused. So, You guys mean.. I live in UK(TV-PAL, PS2-PAL, Games-NTSC) Method1-use Swapmagic to boot HDLoader Method2-use converter(ps2 PAL-NTSC converter? Do I have to buy new NTSC TV to use the converter? Or just connect the converter with PAL TV?) One more question. I might go to America with my PAL ps2(TV-NTSC, PS2-PAL, Games-NTSC,PAL) Does the PAL-NTSC converter solve this problem perfectly? Thanks.
I do not use HD Loader so i can't help you there. but if you get a good video converter it will convert for PAL to NTSC and from NTSC to PAL, see below link. http://www.tenlab.com/Products.html Swap Magic version 3.3 (think it is version 3.6 in europe) is used to load the games. You put it in, and then you swap out for the game disc (usually your back up copy), but in your case it could help you. It will play PAL games on my NTSC TV system, so it should also work playing NTSC games on your PAL TV. to swap and use Swap Magic you will also need a slide card which you can make yourself from thin plastic, like and expired credit card.
[bold]HOW TO BOOT IMPORT GAMES FROM A PAL OR NTSC HARD DRIVE[/bold] [bold]YOU REQUIRE:[/bold] [bold]1)[/bold]-PS2 with Hard Drive with games installed (This is not a backup tutorial so I'm not gonna explain how to backup games to HDD). [bold]2)[/bold]-Swapmagic DVD or CD. [bold]3)[/bold]-HDLoader or HDAdvanced / DVD or CD. [bold]4)[/bold]-A Disc swapping method such as Slide Tool or a Flip-top Case. [bold]HOW TO LOAD IMPORT GAMES ON A PAL/NTSC SYSTEM FROM A HARD DRIVE[/bold] [bold]1[/bold] - Put swap magic in the drive and load it up. (Note: if you are using CD Version you need CD version of HDLoader/HDAdvanced). [bold]2[/bold] - When prompted, use your disc swapping method to change Swap Magic for HDLoader/HDAdvanced. [bold]3[/bold] - Using the Swap Magic menu onscreen, change the program loading option from 'NORMAL' to either 'PAL' or 'NTSC' depending on which you would like to boot your program as. This will force HDLoader/HDAdvanced to load with the correct software only. [bold]4[/bold] - Hit ok when you have selected the correct option. [bold]5[/bold] - HDLoader/HDAdvanced will load as normal but will boot your CD/DVD images in the required mode.
hi, i have the opposite problem of everyone here, I have a PS2 and I live in Canada so my PS2 will only play NTSC games, if I put a PAL game into my system then it shows without any color. So is there a way i can play PAL games on my PS2 with colour? if it is possible then can anyone tell me what i need and how to do it in steps? thanks to whoever replies
Hi people, I had a similar problem just recently here in the UK, could not get american games to play on my daughters' PS2 in anything other than black & white.. found the root of the cause was the original scart lead that came with the PS2, they are crap, with most of the scart pins missing.. got a new scart lead from Argos. gold plated with a switch on the PS2 end to switch between PAL/NTSC. it cost the princely sum of £3.99, which was a complete bonus. all games play in colour now! oh, the PS2 is modded with the Matrix chip, if this makes any difference.. Im trying to learn a bit about the kids' consoles (the lad has an Xbox too) so i can have a go at some upgrades/repairs meself someday...
Dude... It's the same problem, with the same solution. Just in reverse. Where I choose PAL... you choose NTSC.
And before anyone picks up on it... yes it is... I know i'm booting from hard drive, But swap magic works from Disk... NOT hard drive. I'm simply using Swapmagic here to boot my hard drive loader. If you have a PAL/NTSC game and want to play on the other format... BUY SWAP MAGIC.
