    Hello,

I have an avi of a german movie. The avi also contains dutch subtitles. After much difficulty I managed to locate an SRT file with english subtitles for the movie. Unfortunately, the english subtitles are placed directly above the dutch ones, and the text looks very jumbled and is difficult to read. How do I change the position that the srt file places its text, so that I can place it above or below the dutch text so that I can read it easily?

Here is a screenshot so you can see what I mean:

What player do you use to play the video?

Nevermind, I just figured it out!

I use media player classic and here's what you gotta do:

Right-click, choose filters -> ffdshow, then select subtitles from the list on the left, and you will see a slidebar which you can use to change the vertical position of the subtitles.

For some reason I thought you needed to modify the srt file in order to specify the position of the subtitles, but I guess you just need to change it in the media player's settings. Hope this helps someone.
