onto dvd. I have always converted my movies to iso format to burn to dvd. I converted them using VSODivxtoDVD then used DVDshrink then DVD-Decrypter to burn them. So now I have a heap of iso format movies/programs. I just bought a new DivX certified DVD player. I am wanting to put the movies onto the HD of my DVD player (160GB HD). Putting the iso format movies onto the HD will take up way too much space (e.g 3GB per movie) so I am wanting to convert them back to xVid. I just converted one using FairUse. It worked but now I am wanting to put the 699MB movie onto DVD-RW and it seems to want to convert it back to a large file. I am just going to put all the files one by one onto the RW disc so I can reuse the disc. Can someone point me in the right direction?
Burn as ISO data and for a 699MB file, use a CD or encode at a higher bitrate. If you are using the free version of FU that is limited to 700MB's, you might want to try my modified version which is free and has none of those restrictions.
What I have done so far is converted 2 movies back to xvid and then I have opened Nero and just chosen Data DVD and it appears I may be able to fit about 4 movies on the disc?? Is that going to work properly? Where is YOUR modified version?
Back to XviD?? DVD-->XviD-->DVD-->XviD is a bad idea. You can find my builds of stuff including FU @ http://celticdruid.no-ip.com/xvid/ Sure you can fit 4 (or more) movies. Can't see the point myself though unless it was a quadrilogy.
Hi again, I have gotten myself all confused again. I now have ImTooDVDripper platinum. I have converted an iso file back to a "Windows movie" which I assume is avi/DivX. How do I burn it onto DVD (keeping it in that format)???
Windows movie to me suggests wmv. There are some Sigma based players that support wmv, also the 360 I guess. If you have a standard DivX certified player, then probably it doesn't support wmv though. Burning anything is all the same; avi's, wmv, docs, whatever. Just burn as data.
Thanks Celtic, figured it out. I used DivX player. Ive always had it but updated it to new version and figured out it can burn!!!
