    Hi,

I am looking for solution that to put the movie in a regular 4.7GB DVD while quality is maintained at the same time.

I know there are many sofware out there claim they can do the job. But I really don't know which one or what combination will meet my need.

I used to use DVD Decrypter to decrypt the movie from the DVD to the harddisk and use Pinnacle Instant Copy to burn the DVD. Although the process was long but it maintianed the quality. A year ago, I replaced the DVD burner, since then I couldn't copy any movie as the Pinnacle Instant Copy doesn't support the new burner.

Any input or suggestion will be highly appreciated.

    welcome to AD ed_venice,

well a lot of people here at AD use DVD-Rebuilder for the best picture result, but it takes awhile and is not free, so if money is no concern and time isn't then DVD-Rebuilder,

then there is shrink(free) only takes 30-60mins depending on ur specs. also if u have nero, Nero recode is just like shrink but a little better.

This what i use and they all come out great, even the picture as i watch them on a 56" HDtv

This is the combo I use and all are FREEEEEEEEEEE

    1. DVDFab decrypter(Free) to rip the movie to the HDD
    http://www.dvdidle.com/free.htm

    2. VOBblanker(Free) (Not always needed) to clean and fix the movie
    http://jsoto.posunplugged.com/vobblanker.htm

here is a guide for VobBlanker
    http://www.dvdr-digest.com/articles/article_vobblanker_page1.html

    3. DVD shrink(free) to make it fit on a SL(4.7G)disk or nero recode

4.Burn with whatever program u want (free way, ImgBurn or dvd decrypter)

Perfect 100% backup of any Movie Guaranteed, of course with [bold]QUALITY MEDIA[/bold]

    Hi ed_venice
Well depending on how big the movie is will depend on how much compression will be needed to fit on a single layer DVD.
The more compression used the lower the quality.

You can also do movie only to keep the compression down and remove any unnecessary audios.

A free way to try put would be dvd decrypter/dvd shrink then burn w/ decrypter. Shrink does a good job on the compression and keeps the quality good. I try and keep mine in the 70-80% range.
Shrink also has an option for 'deep analysis' - will do the encoding in 2 passes - takes longer might might improve the quality esp. if a lot of compression is used.

Here's a guide (can get link to download shrink here too):
    http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/backup with Decrypter&Shrink.pdf

Or there is DVD Rebuilder - takes awhile but is said to have the best quality.
