How to record from TV?

    I plan to use my camcorder as a VCR recorder....my vidcam is a Canon MV400i...i connect my TV monitor n audio out to my Vidcam's AV in...but the screen from vidcam din register anything from what my TV was playin...any idea why? Thanx!

    are you hooking your RCA cables to output?
