hey guys, i was dual booting XP and vista a while back and got sick and tired of vistas BS so i reformated that part of the HD with the windows isntallation disc, so now i am still left with selecting which OS i want to use when i start the computer. on top of selecting which OS i want, i now have the option of selecting the install windows thing. so basically, how do i get rid of these two options? i tried looking in the 'msconfig' under the boot.ini to see if there was anything to delete in there, but there wasnt. so any help on this situation would be greatly appreciated.

    thanks in advance.

Run>msconfig>BOOT.INI>Set the default timer for about 3 seconds.

i would but its set to one of the others as default, and i would rather just totaly remove them from the list rather than reset the timer.

see if this applys to your situation.

In my situation I had windows xp installed first, then I added vista later. then I removed vista from the dual boot. I followed the directions in the above link to fix the problem left after removing vista.
