this is how i do it. it may or may not work for you.

set the ohms in my pot. to 193.
use cobra v1.2 with gcos ripper. (may not have any effect whatsoever)
    use sony handy cam dvd-r.
implement happy thoughts and good wishes throughout.

this works for me. try it bitch.

thats the way 99.9% of all the other people do it.

It makes "perfect" copies because you have the corbra and viper.....

Just modded a GC with viper gc
    installed BBA
    flashed with cobra 1.2
    loaded ngcdev ripper 0.2a
load IE and typed in ip address from GC screen
saved perfect copies in 20 minutes and burned with nero

Yeah that is pretty much what I do also psxzombie, use vipermultiripper.I use it in GCOS though, but it is the same thing.I configured my IP address and then FTP the image to my computer through IE.

Oh and adjusting the laser will probably not make a difference in backing up games. When you adjust your laser all it does is let you read more cheaper media, but since we are dealing with the originals it really isn't needed for backing up your games.

I doing it the same way and it is working flawlessly.

Only problem is that it takes 40-50 minutes till the game has been ripped... :-(

You can find it here http://www.ngcdev.com I also prefer it.I am not positive on how to load .dol files on the viper, but you might have to build a disc with the .dol file on it or either load it up with a sd card.

I normally just stream the .dol files with PSO and BBA method, always works like a charm for me.I don't think you would have to do that though, since the viper chip can pick up .dol files off disc or off a sd card.I would suggest looking into making a disc with .dol files.

I burned the DOL onto a disk and loaded it by the Cobra file manager.

Greetings, this post started "how to rip and burn 100% perfect copies" seems more for people who already know what they're doing. Us day-one newbies would love to see a easy to follow up to date step-by-step guide....I know I would! ;)

I have been reading posts on bacing up Gamecube games for a few days and I still havn't figured out what I need to get and the best method to backup a original disc to a mini DVD-r so it can play the backups in a gamecube (most posts go all over the place and I get lost). I have been reading the post that started in 2003 and it is confusing and not sure if there is a more up-to-date guide for backing up gamecube discs and all the abreviations make no sense to me. I have backed up dozens of PS2 games no problem reading guides and some help from PS2 forum THANKS HURSTY!

Can someone post or paste a full guide for dummys like me to make perfect Gamecube backups? A guide listing everything needed step-by-step and easy to follow? Including how to setup the system to play the backups.

I have to buy a new Gamecube system mine got stolen last year along with 6 games so I am going to get a new Gamecube system. I would like to know if I need to buy a premodded Gamecube or just get a new system from Wal-Mart so I can get started playing again and I have never got to play RE4 yet and that alone has me wanting to run out and get a system today if I don't need to order a pre-modded system.

    Thank you

My June 11th message says it all. That's all you need to make 100%backups. Look for the Mod That Cube Faq, if you want. That is pretty much step by step.

I can't find the post and tried writing MOD CUBE/Mod that cube ect...

I ordered a premod Gamecube with the qoob chip and case with door for full size DVD...so far that is all I found out searching is you need a modchip to easily play backups.

Now still looking for a FULL guide for making backups from original GC games on this forum. Funny thing is type BACKUP GC OR BACKUP GAMECUBE, BURN GC, BACKUP GAMECUBE in search just leads to a neverending 2003 post.

Is there a better forum to visit than Afterdawn or a link to a full guide up to date for 1:1 backups for a modded GQ?

    I'm using NGCDEV Ripper and got to the screen on the gc that says;
    go http://192.168.1.32/backup.iso
    what do I do next?
I tried going to that address with my Pc browser but it doesn't work.
    can anyone help?

exactly...I'm also looking for a [bold]step-by-step for dummies guide[/bold] to be able to make my own back-up copies of games.
I do not have the PSO game but I heard there's also a BIOS? to get a similar procedure, is that right?
Perhaps this tutorial I need is somewhere in this forum and I haven't seen it, can anybody help me a bit?
I have a GCube (of course), VIPER chip with Cobra BIOS 1.2 and possibly I'll be buying the BBA next week if I find out how to do this back-up thing.
    What else do I need?
Thanks in advance to everybody. You all make this forum a great helping hand for all of us.
