OK I am a new bee here. Hi!! I would like to know how to rip dvd to avi or mpeg or any other format. You see I have a lot of dvd and I want to rip them in to files so that I can store them on Hard Drive but I do not know what software is best or what codex I need for my computer. I want to rip the dvd movies to small files about 700mb or smaller but around there would be great but I would like to have or get the best guilty as possible but do not take a lot of time to rip the movie. So can you help me in what is best.

@Zoso He wants to go the other direction. First you rip the DVDs to hard drive with DVDFab HD Decrypter for example. Then you can use Autogk, AlltoAvi, FairUsewizard, Staxrip. Avidemux and many others free programs to convert the VOB files to AVI.
Full version of FairUse Wizard 2 is available for free for a limited time. http://www.fairusewizard.com/lang_en/fairuse_wizard_dvd_divx_xvid_backup_tool_light_edition.html
