I recently bought Nintendo Wii black edition which has version 4.3U. It is NTSC based. I have a couple of questions regarding softmodding: 1. If I softmod, will I be able to play PAL based disc games on it? 2. If I softmod, will I be able to play downloaded PAL games on it? 3. If I softmod, will I be able to play pirated NTSC games on it? 4. Is it easy to softmod this version of Wii?
Yes to all Google modmii - run it on a pc (need an SD card to load the files on to the wii) follow the instructions the program generates for you.
with it being a black wii you will not be able to run the games from disc, memory card, flash drive or external hdd is the way to play them via a usb loader, I would get a 500 gig hdd then you have plenty of room for games
So they only way to play games on it is through external HDD with USB loader? What's USB loader? Is it a hardware or software?
Thats great! I was looking at Wii Hacks forum and looked like the process is much complex then just running modmii. Or may be I didnt understand it fully!?
Google: letterbomb wii hack It's simple and easy to understand on how to install the softmod files. I've used it on a few Wii's runniong firmware 4.3U and it works great.
