Hi there , ive been looking around in the guides section of this site but cant seem to find anything.
Does anyone know how to syncronize video and music together to flow?
I have no editing experience with video software so are there any Newbie guides outhere that explain this process ?

What are your source files and how were they recorded?

sorry I still don't understand. What are the audio and video formats
your trying to synch up ?
wmv and mpeg2 are composite formats (usually) with both sound and
video. What exactly is the problem ?

Ok well heres is the exact scenario.

I have a video of a party in a club. the format was in .flv and then i turned it into .wmv and .mpeg2 so windows movie maker could recognize it.

I want to scrap the music from the video ( or mute it) and put in my own music. But the thing is , the video is sorta remixed and has effects so at certain points in the song the video ( scene ) gets effected, like remixed, or made to move to the music.

So i just want to know how to sync an mp3 or any type of music file compatible with the program and edit it / tweak it to move with the scenes in the video.

Again im not a pro here.

This is how I would do it, but I'm not an expert at this either,
and it's probably tricky to do it right. Remember, you're in
a general forum, not one dedicated to a particular editing program -
where you're more likely to find this kind of expertise.
A forum dedicated to Windows movie Maker can be found at
http://www.windowsmoviemakers.net/ - in fact it's run by Papajohn
who has been doing this stuff for years.

What I would do is play through the video and take careful notes
where you want your audio edits to start and stop. Once you've got it
worked out on paper, use an audio editing program to edit your
individual sounds. You can open all your audio clips,
change the levels, edit to the proper run times,
then when all the individual bits are ready, use the editor to
combine them into one big file. Save as a wave or mp3. Then you
can merge the complete thing into your video.
"Audacity" is a free audio prog you can find it easily on the net.
