I've searched the glossary, the guides, and previous postings on this, and haven't found anything satisfactory. I'm wondering:

    1) How does one tell if discs have errors? Is it in the verifaction process post-burn (e.g., such as offered by Nero)?

    2) What's the diff between C1 and C2 errors?

    3) if a burned data disc seems to spin excessively fast in the cd-rom drive, does that indicate that there are errors on the disc?

    4) how much of errors is accounted for by the cd-r media as compared to the burner drive?

Thanks for the help here. Sorry for newbie stuff. I'm an expert in other forums (on running shoes) and deal with this same sort of stuff.

I've checked stuff elsewhere over the weekend and have found most of what I was wondering about.

If you are looking for a decent drive that will allow you to check low level C1 errors then I would highly recommend the Plextor Premium.

    Cheers.
