As far as a way to test it, I would try putting a disc in and seeing if it plays it. There is a website that lets you look up compatability. It is user submitted, so it isn't always correct. (It says my stand alone won't play DVD-RW but it does.) http://www.dvdrhelp.com/dvdplayers.php
I would if I had one But on a PC, is it possible? I mean to test that the right sectors are on the right files (or visa versa ? ..)
The only problem with testing on your PC is the PC will play files that your stand alone player will not. Now when you say you would if you had one, did you mean DVD-R disc or a stand alone player?
>The only problem with testing on your PC is the PC will play files that your stand alone player will not. Exactly! I have created DVD-R, and I am not sure it will be playable in a standalone player. PowerDVD plays it on PC.
