This is a how to tutorial on how to convert XVID To DVD. I know many people have problems with this and it gets very frustrating because the XVID's most of the time are good quality. Please Put how you convert XVID's To DVD here so it is all in one place.

ok lve tried many programs including Tmpgenc and with failure and its very complicating.

But ive finally figured out how to convert XVID's to DVD very easily In 3 easy steps.

1, Get a program called 4cc Changer with this program load the xvid then convert it to DIVX do this by making the first drop box XVID then the second drop box DIVX. takes 2 seconds.
2, Then convert using your favorite program like DVD Santa(This is what i use)
3, Then Burn (try not to burn with dvd santa as it is not very good at it.

    4, Enjoy Your Movie :p

if you have any other ways please post them here. Hope this information will help you as it has helped me. If you cannot get your hands on 4cc Changer just ask

    Thx :p

thats one way to do it but this might be quicker.

Discard your 1st and 2nd steps.
Run your xvid file through divx to dvd and once converted it will be in an mpeg2 or dvd movie format.
Now its ready to burn , preferably with nero recode. The program will also do batch encode files as well as individual ones.

    have fun

    hi

yup as andmerr says is very easy! but i use avi2dvd a free app i set it and walk away the encoder i use is CCE but thats not free, but it has 4 built in encoders for free, which are tops too!

it can batch encode too, so set it up for 1/2/3 sayand go to bed!

[bold]the quailty of the of the output dvd files is the same as the input avi! - i love this app![/bold]

as there is quailty losses converting avi, but i cant see it ;-])

Wait... you're just doing Xvid to DVD... Well, why not just use VSO's solution?

    VSO DivXtoDVD v0.5.2b
    http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_encoders/vso_divxtodvd.cfm

I love this program, since it yields kick-@ss results and there aren't many options to configure. I'm nearly 99% sure it accepts Xvid as well as DivX file formats for input. In fact, I can't remember the last time I threw something at it that it couldn't convert. ;-)

    **Edit**

Drat.... sorry Andmerr.. I missed that you wrote this: "Run your XviD file through DivX to dvd and once converted it will be in an mpeg2 or dvd movie format" ~~ Beat me to the punch!

hi andmerr, i'm not sure but i think its free - ;-])

watch out for divxtodvd sometimes it gives a small square picture, meaning it has black bars top and bottom and both sides...

cant wait for the pro version they are working on...

    Hey Rotary,

Did you download DivXtoDVD v2.00 Release Candidate (v1.99.11) yet ?

I'm a beta tester for it, and I think it's great.

Curious about your comments on it !

    @ Nykid

yes avi2dvd will do it! and divxtodvd to!

@ cougar_ii, you kept that quiet hehehe...

but no not tried it yet, i have 2 bin mpegs waiting for this app as the old could not make it either 16:9 or 4:3 all it did was make a small square in the center of screen, although mainconcept and tmpgenc plus did the sames files spot on, so i will attack it with thoses...

i did send reports in about this but heard nothing and i even posted on another site where VSO frequents to answer but they wouldnt answer me...

cant test now as doing an avi2dvd project...

(did you have the full version no watermarks?) as the watermarked version supposed to be slower????

    hi

in avi2dvd you rename files like so

    Matrix CD1
    Matrix CD2
    Matrix CD3

    load Matrix CD1 only

    Hello Nykid,

    Will DivXtoDVD take file1.avi, file2.avi, file3.avi
merge them all together and make final.avi ?

NO, it will not do that !

    BUT, it will load file1.avi, file2.avi, file3.avi
convert then 1 by 1 and give you 1 VIDEO_TS directory, so you can watch all 3 files on your DVD Player, one after the other.

Each file will because a different TRACK on your DVD.
And most if not all DVD Player, will play track after track, so you sit and watch all 3 files play.

Does that answer your inquiry ?

    hi

avi2dvd will make 3 lots to 1 but you need to catch it, it does this as the first operation so open the folder where you set it to make files, then wait for it to finish the jioning and stop the app! else it will carry on doing the dvd output etc..

    [bold]BUT[/bold]

if you have nero recode, you will be able to merge them into one file

    hi

sorry i will try to be more specific here...

ok as we know avi2dvd does just what it says on the tin! but we know it can jion avi and also make a dvd iso for burning, ok when you remane your 2/3 avi in order then set the app to rock and roll its first job will be to take the avi and jion them, and second start its encoding on to a dvd iso for burning, well if you sit and watch the folder you set for it to make the dvd in there you will watch it make a file of avi which is the 1/2/3 avi jioned, it will change after its finished to another window to start encoding when it does this stop the app or not your chioce and grab thre jioned avi it did first, then you will have a jioned avi full film file!

sounds hard but it isnt! start app let it go, then grab it when its finished (this is if you only want to jion the avis and not let it carry on to make a dvd)
