I have some wma files and have tried to unprotect them with no success. I've tried unfuck and freeme but those don't work for dmr version 1. Any help appreciated.
Don't mean to resurrect topics, but this is something that I've been trying to figure out as well. Figured it's better to bring back a dead topic than to clone it. I read through the topic about unfuck started by one of the moderators (I think it was A Klingon) and for a while I was really hopeful that it would solve my problems. But, alas, I have XP and the files will not work with either method mentioned in the post. Don't know if they are version 1 or 2, but either way I'd like to figure out how to fix them. Anything has to be easier than playing the files and recording them with Sound Forge and encoding them to mp3. I have 700+ files to convert here!
Some ideas (if you can play back the files): 1. If you can play the files back with Winamp (-> some WMA input plugin - can't tell details as I don't have a single WMA on my HDD) you can use XMPlay + (the same) Winamp input plugin with lame.exe as output device. This should work faster than realtime. Get XMPlay at http://www.un4seen.com. You might want to do a "WMA" forum search there... 2. Use Total recorder to capture WMP's output. 3. Use NTONYX Virtual Audio Cable to pipe WMP's output to any audio recorder. Transcoding lossy -> lossy will cause quality loss, so it might be a better idea to reencode from CD directly to mp3 or to get the songs as mp3s somehow if possible.
