Hello, I recently purchased a A06 Pioneer DVD Burner, which I installed in an external case with an IDE to USB 2.0 Interface so it's a external Unit. But anyways. I downloaded the 1.07 version firmware from Pioneer's website. I am unclear exactly on how to update it, I cannot find clear instructions on doing so. can someone point me in the right path on doing this, I do not want to destroy my drive or my PC. Thank you. the file is a exe. file and when I open it, it asked me where I want to install it. Thanks..
Hiya cornflake, are you sure you want to do this? reason I ask is this: MOST firmware flash programs EXPECT to find the drive on one of the DEFAULT IDE channels on the motherboard, and they MAY freak out and turn your drive into an expensive paperweight (failed flash). If you MUST flash your firmware, do it with the drive on a proper IDE channel, not a virtual one.
