Hey guys!!! I currently have Opera 9.25 installed and I found out that 9.26 is now available. I downloaded the tar.gz to my desktop. I'm a newbie at this, so how should I install this with all my previous settings in place from 9.25? Thanks!

Is there something critical that was updated? Usually better to wait for your distro to create a new package and get it through the built in package management system, that way you know it isn't going to clobber things. If you're using Ubuntu as I think you are, you can usually find a .deb for whatever release you're using and do something like a "sudo dpkg -i [package].deb" from wherever you downloaded it.

A bit of a case of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". Or at least don't be in a rush to fix it unless there is a critical security fix or added functionality that you desperately need.

If it is a critical security fix, your distro should be on it like stink on a monkey, so expect an official release promptly if that is the case.
