ok, this is a bit of gathering info and own testing.. and yes, i succeeded..

you will need at least 2.9MB space in your MEMORY CARD
    1 Blank CD
    USB STICK, PENDRIVE, whatever works!

for all those that have PS2 SLIM, and want to use CB 9.2 with backup games, and can't really do it, this is the HOW - TO

    1. Look for ulaunch, preferably the latest, IIRC its 4.08 globalwar edition, and download it
    2. Look for CB9.2 Cracked, and download it
    3. Burn uLaunchElf into a CD, with alochol will be fine
    4. Extract the CB9.2 files on your PC
    5. Rename the cb9.2.elf -> BOOT.ELF (all caps) and put it in a PENDRIVE, or USB STICK

    Once this all done

Be SURE to have AT LEAST 2.9MB in your MEMORY CARD

    ----

    1. plug in your USB stick, and insert ur newly burnt uLaunchELF into ur PS2.
    2. start ur ps2
    3. once u in ULE (U Launch Elf), go to BROWSER, and select MASSDEVICE (USB DEVICE), in the selection
    4. from there find ur BOOT.ELF file that u renamed and copy to ur MEMORY CARD, CREATING A FOLDER!!, called BOOT, and paste it insied it
    -SHOULD LOOK SOMETHING LIKE THIS-
    MC0/BOOT/BOOT.ELF
5.once u are DONE, return to the main menu
6.Eject your TRAY, and remove ur U L E CD AND your USB
    7.PRESS & HOLD R1 and RESTART your PS2 SLIM
8.You will be running CB9.2 FROM your MEmory CARD
9.Before u get exited and stuff, go to options first and find EJECT TRAY option.. and make sure its OFF
10.NOW!!! get your codes and stuff and start GAME!!

    ENJOY!!

    Thanks moikaiser!!
Finally, I got it to work.
It also works if you put it in MC(not Necsry as BOOT.ELF) and take out CD and start it through UlaunchELF(Provided it's already booted up).

I found a great way to make this CodeBreaker 9.2/.3/10 Work on PS2s via USB with/without CD/DVD in PS2!!
    I have a JAP PS2 slim.
I have uLaunchELF an BOOT.ELF from MC.

    here's how:
BOOT up Ule 4.12 form MC by Dev 1.
    Plug-in USB with CBreaker.
    I used this >>
    [IMG]
    Then Boot it as usual
Light on my USB started flickering and then it shut off.
I pulled it out. and it booted up fine.

What else I d/led Day 1 codes used CB chat and d/led some saves

I booted the CB 10 & 9.2 elfs from USB via uLaunchELF as you would normally boot anything else(by hitting "O" on them). DVD was in the drive and did'nt matter.
The idea is to let the CB boot from the USB and wait for the TV screen to flicker once or to see that the ps2 has stopped reading from the USB(usually there's a LED that shows you activity) which means CB is loaded up in PS2 RAM.
after that just chuck out the USB storage from PS2. CB will boot up fine.
and from then its normal Code-Breaker. you can do all that you do in REATAIL VERSION.

By this you save a lot of space form you MC. and Disc being in the drive or not doesn't matter.

And of'course moikaiser If you would'nt have shaerd your idea of removing USB It would'nt have been possible. Thanks!

hmm... doesnt work on my ps2, since once i swap disc ULE -> GAME, it won't read anymore.

How do you boot CB from your USB? do you press anything in order to boot CB 9.2 directly from USB without going through ULE? then swapping disc? coz it doesnt work for my ps2... cant get it to work..

Well I use ule from MC via Dev1(MC0/BOOT/BOOT.ELF)
    once thats boot up.
I have set up a shortcut for CB10.elf on opening screen as "L1"(USBD/CB10.elf)
I hit "O" on it. pendrives Light starts flicking indicating that its loading once that light turns off. I pull it off(I would say like 15-20 sec at most before I tug it off)
And then it boots up fine.
I tried with both dvd in drive and empty no probs.
    hope it helps you.

I have a modchip D.M.S 4 pro (Clone) So I boot it from MC.
    > MC0/BOOT/BOOT.ELF I press and hold "triangle" while PS2 is starting.

Hi! Just newbie here, I would like to ask few questions regarding this thread..I have a PS2 Slim w/modchip..Hope I get a reply...

    1. Could I just burn the ULaunchElf without the dummy file? Does the PS2 recognize the CD without the dummy file?

    2. Can the ULaunchElf recognize any usb device attach to the PS2 regardless on how you format it? (e.g. FAT32)

    3. If so, is it possible that the usb device attached to your PS2 will be read by the CB once you boot the CB from Dev1? Because I research in the web and they said that CB9.2 is not compatible in PS2 Slim.

    4. Will Transcend 1GB Jet Flash work in CB? I've seen NHS2008 post a picture of a Transcend but I don't know how many MB/GB it is. What Transcend are you using NHS2008?

    5. Since I can play backup games without swapping disk could I just skip the procedure and burn the CB9.2 instead and play it directly?

Another question, is there a list of compatible usb devices/mass storage when booting the ULaunchElf? And can you boot the CB regardless of what modchip you have?

    1. plug in your USB stick, and insert ur newly burnt uLaunchELF into ur PS2.
    2. start ur ps2
    3. once u in ULE (U Launch Elf), go to BROWSER, and select MASSDEVICE (USB DEVICE), in the selection
    4. from there find ur BOOT.ELF file that u renamed and copy to ur MEMORY CARD, CREATING A FOLDER!!, called BOOT, and paste it insied it
    -SHOULD LOOK SOMETHING LIKE THIS-
    MC0/BOOT/BOOT.ELF
5.once u are DONE, return to the main menu
6.Eject your TRAY, and remove ur U L E CD AND your USB
    7.PRESS R1 and RESTART your PS2 SLIM
8.You will be running CB9.2 FROM your MEmory CARD
9.Before u get exited and stuff, go to options first and find EJECT TRAY option.. and make sure its OFF
10.NOW!!! get your codes and stuff and start GAME!!

Question in STEP NO. 7 - Do you have to assign a shortcut key for the CB to boot in mc?

Regarding your question to step 7. PRESS AND HOLD R1, no need to configure anything, if u have got the latest ULE, Globalwar Edition

Regarding your question if FAT32 will work, i would not know exactly about it, since i have not tested Yet but if you would, i would really appreciate it

Where could i find that ULE Globalwar Edition? I burned a ULE 4.12 in my CD, is that ok? Could you give me the link?

well, since u have 4.12 i believe it will work, have u already tried pressing and holding R1 then restarting your PS2 Slim? does it not go into CB9.2?

Just tried it recently and it works. Thanks! BTW which is the FASTER METHOD to BOOT in PS2? Save CODEBREAKER in MC? or ULE in MC and CB in USB? I have a 64MB MC.

its up to u, i find it easier just to press and hold R1 then start my ps2, i go into CB directly, i wouldnt need to run from ULE
