I have been using Shrink now for quite awhile and haven't really had any burning problems up til now. Shrink not cracking codes on most new movies. I have tried what most of you have suggested and that is using Dycryper and Shrink to burn. I have tried but I must be doing something wrong. Are they suppose to be use together at the same time. Am I suppose to have Shrink set up to use Dycrypter instead of Nero. Please someone tell me what I can do. If I can't figure it out I do believe my burning days are over. Nothing is working.

    Thank You.

you can just use decrypter to rip the files off the dvd into a seperate folder on you comp and then shrink and burn w/nero

    works fine for me

    There are two methods:

    1) Use DVD Decrypter to rip the movie in File mode. Make a folder somewhere easy to find and rip the movie there. Then click Open Files in DVD Shrink and find your folder with all your VOB files in it.

    2) Use DVD Decrypter in ISO mode to rip. This gives you an ISO and an MDS file. In DVD Shrink click File (not Open Files), then Open Disc Image and find your ISO or MDS file, doesn't matter which one.

Thank You for your quick response. I am going to give it a whirl. That was my problem. I didn't know how to locate my file once it was ripped with Dycrypter.

There are two major sections of DVD Decrypter when you open it: "Source" and "Destination". Look under "Destination" and you'll see where (that is, in which directory) Decrytper is ripping your files.

mode file from DD open file from HDD in shrink.Choose write image with DD from shink options for the writing process.DD will automatically open after the compression.Put in a blank disc,Click HDD>>DVD button. At the top of the program you will see the movie with the .iso extension.

()Huuummm, not sure I understood that. A new code ?
DVDD= DVD Decrypter, that everyone knows BUT DD ?
HD = Hard Drive, that everyone knows BUT HDD ? HDD>>DVD, ?

The reason I ask is because there are many, many pple who come here whose second language is English and they're having enough trouble with English already. Now, they're feeling really left out when you make up special code references that aren't in the mainstream OR perhaps you don't care that others can't understand you ? It doesn't make you Kweel, it makes you a snob. This forum isn't about kweel. There are tons of pple who go through these threads and you're making it impossible for a majority of them to get anything from your posts.

No one every did that to you when first you came here, let's think a little before we try to be kweel and invent something.

    I knew you'd understand ~

NOW, let's go back, while we're here and translate you code for the nice pple,

    Thank you !

    Pete

I appreciate all the help. These boards are great and all of you are quick to respond. For those like me I enjoy broadening my views when it comes to technology. Again thank you so much.

What's Kweel it though it was suppose to be spelled cool. It sounds like you need to learn english yourself.I can't write a full guide for this guy.But I don't need you to be a prick and start bashing me Pete back off. I haven't seen you try to help this guy out.Ok, so I used acroynms and short hand and I realize that is not the best way to communicate.Ok new guy here's your help from someone who gives a shit.Sorry for the quick steps.Ok, first of all shink is not cutting it for you in the encryption area so you want to use dvd decrypter in conjuntion to shrink. I hope I spelled that rightforpetermouth.Ok go to dvd decypter and at the top and click mode and click file so there is a check mark by file. Now you see a icon with a dvd pointing to the hard drive, click that and let it go through each file.It will save all the file pertaining to the movie in a folder on the hard drive. This does not create an automatic ISO extention.Next you will need to go to the hard drive and find the folder with your movie files so you know where they are at when you browse for the files in shrink. Now that you have your folder and you know where it is, open shrink, and click open file and double click on the movie file from your hard drive from the directory. It will then open the movie file to analize and give you the options that you want to keep.If the top bar is all green then you can do a full back up.Click Back up.The program will give you a window for the destination for the compressed video, typically the hard drive to burn later or to save, and a second window for writing to the DVD Burner. If you choose to burn with DVD decrypter then you need to choose write image with dvd decrypter.iso. this will automatically open dvd decypter after the compression of the movie in dvd shrink.Put in a blank disc when dvd decypter opens and then click the icon with the hard drive pointing to the DVD.After the dvd is done, you will have two files of the movie on your hard drive. You can delete them to gain space on your hard drive.Or, save the movie with the .iso to reburn in dvd decypter under mode iso write and then the file from the hard drive.

To everyone.Let it be known that there will be lots of members trying to help in every which way that they can.Not everyone is going to have the best solution to the problem. You need to respect the person for there efforts.Try to be kweel.Don't just come in a forum to cause problems with others. This won't make you popular.I have the balls and tenacity to help others the best I can.

    Now to the point.

    1. Rip with DVD Decrypter in file mode

    2. compress with shrink to another folder in ISO mode.

    3. Burn with DVD Decrypter.

For those of you who are interested, Pete has helped more newbies on AD than both of you together will ever help. When I say both you know who you are.

Both of who? Scubapete is an Afterdawn Addict for a reason Sophopcles. She is a pioneer on Afterdawn. If you think I'm putting down Scubapete then your retarded and you need to get a life and drop the "new" subject.

Geez, it was a joke Sophopcles. You're acting like I was talking to you.

    In other news....

DVD Shrink can be used first sometimes when the dvd is a DVD 5. Once ripped it can automatically be burned with DVD Decrypter.

i have been watching this thread from the beginning and hadn't yet commented as i'd eased off on posting this weekend due to being heavily involved on a thread that l8nights mentioned earlier. That post was extremely confrontational by the ORIGINAL poster of that thread yet i continued to try to help that person even after their SECOND warning off a moderator for being out of order.

I see this post has already degenerated into a battle of wills, this time we have 2 'Addicts' being attacked. If some of you newer members read a lot of the posts around the different forums you will see that some of the long-termers around here that ppl like myself regard as extermely helpful and very respected for the time and effort (and detailed knowledge) they put in, are posting less these days due to the frequent battle of wills that goes on.

Right, to get back on topic, i use DVD Shrink for 99.5% of my movies, with DVD Decrypter only needed for the odd funny protection or if i need to get the whole movie to hard disc before using Shrink on that directory before burning with Nero. I don't personally burn with Decrypter but i know of it; so what i'm saying is that even though Shrink is no longer updated, and Decrypter will no longer be updated due to Lightning UK being shutdown, that they still make a great combination.

@sbdean - looks like you got the help you needed from the Senior guys so at least there's something.
