To anyone who can help me! I am not much of a computer guru. I'm probably more dangerous to myself than anything else. I have a copy of the 'I COPY DVDs 2'. and would like to know if anyone can give me a step by step write-up as how to copy regular store bought DVDs to another DVD. I realize this sounds stupid; but I have tried to copy movies usig DVDXCOPY,DVD COPY One and others with no success. I am probably missing something very easy to do; but I sure don't know what it is. This is just a general note, I am not trying to copy movies to resell. I'm to old to fight the authorities. I am trying to build my own personal DVD library, so that I'll have the movies to watch when I'm older and cannot get about any more. If anyone can help me it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks to anyone who can help me!

    Frank

Mayby you should try software that ... works?

AnyDVD & CloneDVD2 usually get the job done. You can try them for free.

As far as I know the program you have needs another plugin to backup and encrypted DVD. You would be better off trying the free programs to backup, there are guides and they are not that hard to use. All you need is three programs....... DVDFab Decrypter to rip your movie, including all new encrypted ones.......DVD Shrink to compress ..... and DVD Decrypter to burn your output.

You can take a look at the guide and get the software you need here.

As far DVDXcopy that is an old program no longer in business and has no support. And don't sell yourself short, you are never to old to learn and it is not as hard as it seems once you do a few backups.

    Hi! Arniebear and elby,

I appreciate your reply's to my problem. I have the following program/software on my machine; but I'm not sure as to what I should use and definitely the order of sequence of events as how to burn a DVD.
    NERO Start Smart
DVD43 (The newest, I'll probably have to down load it again; because of the problems I hear about the new revision.)
    DVDCOPYONE
    DVD-CLONER
    Copy to DVD SE
    DVD Fab Decrypter
    ICopyDVDs2
    OneClickDVDCopy 4.1

I am not sure as to what order the copying and writing proceeds in. I've copied movies to disc but then couldn't do anything with them. I think I need help with the sequence of events. Any help is welcome

    Thanks
    Frank

If you already have DVDFab Decrypter then go the step further and get DVD Shrink it is free and use the guide I gave you in the above link. Shrink will autoburn with Nero if you are using version 6.6.0.18 or below. If you are using the newest update then you would manually have to burn with Nero, or you can use DVD Decrypter as was listed in the guide. DVD43 is a driver which works the same as AnyDVD, but can be unstable. The program you have does not break encryption and must use DVD43 for that. I had troubles with DVD43 it would crash my computer, and others have had problems with the program too.

If you want to use a driver program that breaks the encryption with this program then try AnyDVD it is stable and updated regularly. You can try the 21 day free trial.
