You have the opposite of what i wrote: you have your CDROM as SECONDARY MASTER where i have it as PRIMARY SLAVE. If you go with the way I have stated above, there are two ways of setting the jumpers: MASTER/SLAVE TECHNIQUE Set your Harddrive as a MASTER Set your CDROM as a SLAVE Connect these two in any way you want on one of the IDE cables Set your CD BURNER as MASTER (actually it doesnt matter much cuz its the only device on the cable but for completeness you might as well) Connect the CD BURNER in anyway onto the SECOND IDE cable. CABLE SELECT TECHNIQUE Set your HDD, CDROM and CD BURNER as CABLE SELECT (often denoted CS). Now you have to be careful. This is how an IDE cable looks (note the scale) [MOBO]============================[M] With all your devices jumpered as CABLE SELECT, take one of your cables and connect the harddrive to the [M] slot and the CDROM drive to the slot. Connect the [MOBO] plug to the motherboard (IDE0 or IDE1) For the other cable, connect your CD BURNER to the [M] slot (again, it doesnt matter for this one but for completeness sake).
