I have recently downloaded four avi files, a TV series, and converted them to DVD and saved them to a folder using VSO Divx To DVD – this process has been really successful. They play in order, however I would love to put on a menu rather than having to fast forward to the next episode. Any ideas??
You can either get a user friendly authoring software like Nero Vision Express or something better like DVDlabPro or DVD Maestro. Nero Vision will take about 5 minutes to finish your DVD without chapter points, where the other programs may take an hour or so (but with chapter points). The results for DVDlab and Maestro are much better though. For NVE, you simply take your .vob files and import them. You follow a wizard and a menu is created automatically. For Maestro or Lab, you have to demux your .vob to .m2v and .wav (or .ac3, or .mp2, or whatever format your audio is in). Then you have to import media for a menu, movies, and sound, create links to movies and other menus and set the playback order. It is much faster to find chapter points in both of these programs though. After you are finished, you compile your DVD and run it through IFOEdit to make sure everything is correct. Then you burn the DVD folders.
