In an attempt to thoroughly research my future purchase of a color laser, I have read a common complaint of HP color cartridges is that that printer with "countdown" the page count on cartridges, even if that color isn't used in the process, resulting in cartridges being indicated as empty when they really have alot of toner left in them. I am hearing that when the printer signals that the cartridge is empty (even when it isn't), the printer shuts down till a fresh cartridge is installed. Seems that the cartridges are serial numbered, so the old trick of removing , shaking and reinstalling the same cartridge doen't work. So really like the print quality but am hesitant with the consumables issue. Does anyone know of a solution for this? Does anyone know of a forum that dives into these issues as deeply as Afterdawn dives into CD/DVDs/authoring software issues?
dont buy that particualr printer then lol in my experience with colour lasers brother tend to be a pretty good brand. we have several brother colour lasers at my workplace and very rarely recieve complaints about problems with them. however we recieve endless complaints about the HP printers we have
