Good Morning all... Recently purchased a new hp pavallion 1410n. The burner that it came with is a HP740b. On my old PC (HD died) I still have a LiteOn 1693SOH which I did at least 550 burns on with no problems. Was curious if anyone out there has any experience or feedback they could share regarding this newer hardware.
First, I can tell you that this thread is for set top recorders . . Second . . That HP740b is a rebadged LG/Hitachi drive that, in my opinion is a B+ DVD burner and an A- CD burner . . It does a pretty decent job of burning labels . . . Third . . you may want to upgrade your firmware straight away as I'm pretty sure that most are not up to date Here is a link for v.HJ24 http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/...=502021&lang=en&printable=yes&encodeUrl=true&
your right catfreak it is what i have.am happy with it but now that ive been burning more i want a plextor....the update for the firmware is a must also i have found it burns best at 6x-8x nothing above that i would recomend
Catfreak...thanks so much for your imput.I had gone to The Firmware Page but it did'nt appear to have any new updates...although the link you sent me seems to indicate that there is one. Sorry about posting in the wrong Forum.
Catfreak....again thanks so much for your input...took the Firmware update from the Link you provided. Hate to be a pest-but how did you get to this update? It wasn't on the Firmware Page and when I went to HP support/DL and searched I was unable to find it. Just curious how I go about getting the next update...whenever that is.
