i have hp pavilion with partition recovery disk (vista pre-installed)

now i'm using win7 and i have the partition recovery...

    my questions are:

can i extract the pavilion drivers hidden in partition recovery ? and used it to compatible my hardware with win7 ?

    can i have pre-installed win7 instead of pre-installed vista?

    thnx for help

Possibly, but it would be a very involved process and there's no guarantee that the Vista drivers would work with Windows 7.

No. Not unless you have Windows 7 preinstalled in the recovery partition, which is highly doubtful.

    You can't just "extract" them.

You would have to build a disk out of the recovery partition and find the driver files themselves.

What's wrong with going to the mfg. website and just downloading the drivers?

Just make a recovery CD using HP's tools. Windows 7 is very similar to Vista. Most vista drivers will work on win7.
