HP DVD200i wont recognize R or R/W disc

    the short version, I installed myself, worked fine.

    I installed another hard drive, and since cannot record on dvd R or R/W. the machine will recognize any other CD or DVD, and play them with no problem, it will also recognize and use the DVD R tha I originally made with it.

    HP200i works fine here !
    DVD+r and +rw (no - media !) Platinum and HP work fine on my PS2 for movies and PS2 games.

    I guess you should re-install the software.
    Something is wrong...mayby you are using DVD-r media..?
