Alright, I bought this HP DVD300e yesterday, which is a DVD drive for my computer, and followed every instruction. My computer detects it and everything, but it won't read anything I put into it at all. DVD + R, DVD + RW, DVD -R or even DVD - ROMS such as data discs. I contacted technical support and they suck. They led me straight back to the tech support web site which didn't do me a dang thing in the first palce. This problem is driving me up the wall. Please help

i hope you got it very cheap because its a piece of crap and very old (i speak from experience)

If it is definitly visible in My Computer id try upgrading firmware, hp released a free upgrade to DVD 300n which improved reading ability

I have had my HP 300 for about 3 yrs and I love it, - I call it the IDIOT BURNER, because it is easy to use.. but I too also had to update my firmware before I used it.. it is on the HP website, I just looked for an update last week.
