My Notebook is a HP dv5 1060 which is still within the 1st year warranty period. My issue is when I tilt the lid to adjust the display position the screen goes white with some black stripes on it, shimmers for a moment and all is fine again. The image comes out fine again. This is also evident when I recover from sleep mode. My email to HP came with a reply saying a potential problem of the connector bus between the lid and the mother board. What are my options? Is it an unusual item to replace? Will it harm my display if the issue pertains?
I am having the same problem with my DV5, its more of an annoyance than anything else, if anyone has any ideas how to get this problem corrected please repond. Thanks
I have that problem with my dell inspiron. i called dell and they said that the connecter for the screen to the motherboard is loose. they said that it will not hurt the screen in any way. but when i looked into the laptop the connecter was fine. it was not loose. I know that it is with my video card. this causes the video card to refresh the screen resoulion. it is normal and can depend on the windows system. vista for sure and xp sometimes.
