I'm thinking of buying a home cinema setup on a budget, because i just need it to tide me over for the time being. What i really need is advice on this setup, because it looks like there may be typos on the page. http://www.pixmania.co.uk/uk/uk/133200/art/panasonic/sc-ht885eg-s-5-1-home-cin.html#fichetechnique

If you look at the decription at the top it says it has an overall output of 100W, which doesn't sound much considering there are setups on there which reach 850W. In the tech specs underneath it says it is 1000Wm which sounds to high. So what is right?

    Help would be appreciated.

Forget about specs on HT Theater in a box as they are inflated no system like that one is going to give you 1000 watts or 100 watts those specs are the product of advertising dept it makes the unit look great you should listen to it before you invest in it

they get 100 watts by deviding the five speaker into 100 w which eguals 20 watts per speaker

My budget is pretty tight, i'd say max UK 300 which is about $560. Thanks.

$560 isn't that tight of a budget. I just bought a 720 watt HTiB for $150. I have a 12' by 14' room so it has sufficient power for me at least. Think i want an active sub woofer tho..... Yeah i know its a cheap system and all, but I'm just 17 in high school, oh well.....
