I want to buy or build a PC to connect to my bigscreen. I am currently using my notebook and a DVI-D cable with 3.5mm plug to RCA. I want my notebook to become mobile again so now I need a PC. I have 1 DVI-D and 2 Component hookups (RGB) on the back of my TV. I thought the DVI-D was higher quality so I have been looking for something that uses this. I just need it to be able to download, connect to a firewire box and stream music and movies to my TV. The TV supports upto 1080i including 720p.

What is the bare minimum I can use for this. I want no stutter or lag, just a smooth running setup. Doesnt need to be a shuttle. BTW If anyone is currently selling what I need email me. ls3mach at yahoo.com

    Thanks

theres no real minimum spec for a htpc (unless intended for gaming use aswell) all you need to make sure of is that you get a grpahics card that is ready for HDTV id suggest having at least 512 mb of memory in the comp and at least a sempron 2500 or equivilent processor
