    Don't mind the name .... i'm a it new~
Plz help i figgured that you might know whats wrong with my ps2 since i read youre FAQ which looks pretty outstanding. Anyway i have recently got my PS2 modded and couldn't play copied games since the screen would go blank after i had reached past the main part. But that isn't my problem, u see the guy told me to keep reseting it till the backup worked, then if that didn't work that it was the laser, but once while i was trying all day i started patting the PS2 and then suddenly it went to satndby i tried to turn it on but each time it would go red again after if had been on geen for a few secs.

PLZ**** help if at all possible ThankYou

What chip and who installed it? are you sure they're reputable? I think it's your pwr/eject ribbon that you knowcked loose while patting it. Also, what do you mean by the "main part."

    Sorry i couldn't be clear....
I can't remember the chip model i'll check on that!
    i have a scph 30003 R model
after i reset the ps2 to boot a backup game it goes blank after it passes the bluey screen part. the ps2 sounds to be loading for a bit then just goes quite.....any ideas? i was stuffed because the guy sayed it was my laser, that it had run out but when i saw that is was possible to adjust it, i found hope. ( u know this is the most useful site yet! )
Anyway you know the power eject ribbon would it have been knocked loose from the cover at which it was attached or lower under the disk drive of the PS2 because it goes under and is attched to something else could that be the problem?
Thanks for youre time i'll try and contact the guy who modded it to check it all. Aprreciatated alot.

Could be either but it's more likely the end attached to the Motherboard. When you say blue screen, do you mean the blue border? It keeps seeming like you're using swap magic discs.

Yes.. When you turn youre PS2 on what do you normally see ...... before you start playing youre games. That screen at the begining
but if possible can you give me any detail or info on fixxing that pwr/eject ribbon problem. how can i lift up the PS2 Disk drive so i don't damage anything and if it would be easier for me to do it or someone else
    *****Thanks youre very helpfu**

Find a no solder chip installation or similar guide for your version. That will tell you how to get to the ribbon (ignore the steps afterwards), make sure its not lose.

hey! i found that the problem is from the part connected to the buttons. It's silver line looks to be broken. i tried smearing it together but that didn't work and now i'm thinking of firmly holding in placeby using selotape

On your responce to burning backups.
I have a game (X-BOX) that is saying:
    Number of Layers 2
So how do I split the images using DVD Decrypter
Where can I get that info.
Ive used decrypter for games that have 1 layer and it is excellent. Just dont know how to split the layers.
    Cheers

im sorry im no sure if this is considered as regarding-piracy or not. Piracy is semi-legal here so i can buy pirated games from shops but they sell DVD games on CDs , without the videos. I wanted to know how i could do that , not owning a DVD-RW , coz that would really help me out. Thanks and sorry if u guys consider this piracy-related

Sorry guys but I'm seeing this thread fall farther and farther from it's purpose. These questions have been discussed in detail on their own threads, just use the search feature. Sorry for the late reply, my repeater gave out on my and i needed to get a new switch.

    Hey,

I'm having major issues. I have the Magic V 50K chip and i just got FF7. When i went to save, it says i don't have a memory card! I've tried to empty out slots and played it 3 times again but still the same thing shows up. I don't kno if it's the mod chip but can you help me in any way?

    Thanks,
    gamergirl

this might be stupid since I'm new here but do you guys have a forum or thread dedicated to vendors? Since there are many online stores it'd be nice if we could read peoples opinions and experiences with the vendors but since most of them have names such as "modchip.ca" doing a search for the store you want to find out about returns way to many hits to be effective.

Prolly just tell us where you are located and the local guys will find you! Then ask the rest of us if they are trust worthy and well priced.
