Restart your computer and close any programs. Open DVD Decrypter and try it again.

Restart your comp. and then re-read the game (make sure it's clean), then restart it again and then burn it on a good quality disc on 1x.

I have a ver 1 PS2 and i have a few backups of my games. I have backed up 4-5 games but my copy of madden 2005 and spiderman 2 don't work properly. Before I open my ps2 to clean the lens, do you think that's the problem?

They could be bad copies or your laser could need a cleaning, you'd have to try cleaning it to see. its worth cleaning it anyways, it helps.

Why would some games work and others not. If it was a bad burn how come the 4 th I copied it it still didn't work? I don't get it. My Burnout3 and ViceCity and Leisure suit work perfectly, but madden 05 and spider man don't? It so frustrating.

Are the discs less clean than the others?

I can't get my ps2 backups to work. I have search everywhere on this site but I couldn't an answer to my prob. Here's it is: I have a v7 ps2, a magic mod. and a BenQ DVD Duel 1610 burner. Using DVD Decrypter, I backup to HDD using ISO read and then burn the ISO file at 1X using ISO write. This works fine and makes a 1:1 copy. When I place the disk in the ps2 the red screen comes up saying "insert...ps2 format" My burned psx games work perfect but none of the ps2 ones will. Ihave tried Maxell DVD-R and Verbatim DataLifePlus DVD-R and the same thing always happens. Please help me, I can't figure out what is wrong.

There are so many things that can be wrong, so lets start narrowing down to the problem. Burn a movie on a DVD and see if that works. If that doesn't work then try using the actual original DVD and see if that works. What we are doing is eliminating the need for the mod chip and seeing if the backups are good and if your ps2 can read DVD-R at all. if that doesnt work then playing the original is taking out the factor of a bad backup and just testing to see if your ps2 reads DVDs at all.

My ps2 plays original DVDs as well as burned DVD-R DVDs without a problem. Also, I have played burned psx games on my ps2 without a prblem.

Yeah that's the one, the magic 3.1. By the way sorry Ender88 for not mentioning I tried DVDs and burned DVDs and that they worked in my first message. I knew to try from reading the forum.

I haven't heard anything on your burner so it's still the number one variable in my mind. Is there any way you can have a friend burn it on a nother burner or so any of your friends have backups?

Hi Ender, im new to this thread and have made sure im not asking u a question already asked. So, i can play copied games alright. I have a messiah chip, and have played copied movies. When i copy movies myself though its a different story. I was wondering what you think the best method is.

    Thanx

I suggest DVD Shrink as well if you have a DVD9 you are wanting to copy, otherwise I suggest DVD Decrypter for DVD5.
