just curious about the whole dnas thing. Is there any other way of getting the iso and bin files..cuz that thread you need to sign up and wait 5 days....I'm not to fond of that but if thats the only way its cool. Cuz I know it doesn't burn those files just using achocol 120. Any other options then just dl those files from that site? Maybe other program or something to rip those imagions?

    Q) Can I use DVD-R/DVD-RW/DVD+R/DVD+RW?
    A) It depends on your PS2 version. v1-4 are iffy on booting anything but -R. Higher versions are better at reading more than just -R. In the end it depends on your individual PS2, some can read more than others.
I have a v5. How will it work? Better that V1-V4?

Like it says, "Higher versions are better at reading more than just -R" so yours is indeed higher than a v4 and so it should read better than a v4. But as it also says, "In the end it depends on your individual PS2." What didn't you understand, i quoted almost every sentence.

    Hey...
read this page and cant see an answer to a query i have... to put it shortly... i've been given a ps2 with messiah 2 chip and i bought GTA san andreas UK release the other day... got home started playing it and then an hour or so in the sound cut off... thought it was the game so changed it for another brand new one, then it happened again so i bought a new scart lead... still happening...

then found out this pdf doc on the net about messiah2 which tells you that you sometimes get loss of sound, cut off sound or weird buzzing on games... but it says to fix it you have to do this mod...
My question is: is there any other way to fix this other then doing the mod suggested on the pdf doc?

I've tried disabling the chip by pressing reset 5/8 seconds but it doesnt seem to do much difference, once it let me play 2h without cutting the sound... any other way to disable the messiah chip?

just wondering really and sorry if its been answered, i searched for it and couldnt see anything... any help is appreciated, as well as where i could get the mod done for reasonabel price in or around london...

    pz

    Lo

Great faq page.Downloaded software as suggested in How do I burn backups. When it came to writing I selected the iso file but error box came up saying I had selected wrong file and that it would automatically select the right file which was the mds file? this is opposite to what you say? Am useing dvd decrypter for burning

You were able to select either the iso or mds on previous versions of DVD Decrypter but the new version forces you to select the mds.

no not at all, you were able to select either in the previous versions, this one will make you select the mds, but you end up with the EXACT same DVD, no worries.
