You could add to the FAQ:

    Q) [bold]How to turn Parental Lock off?[/bold]
    A) Once the movie is playing, go Setup - Custom - Parental Lock and set to Off. However your PS2 might already be password locked, and when you insert a movie you're asked to move to different parental lock level, and you don't have a password. In this case when prompted for a password press Select and enter the master password 7444 (try also entering 7444 while pressing select). Now you can enter a new password, use something simple like 0000. Now you can start playing the movie and change the parental lock to off. One additional problem you might find is that once you're in the Custom menu, you can't select Parental lock, it just goes dimmed highlighted. To fix this you will need to open your PS2 and remove the battery and put it back in again, then try again and you should be able to get to the Parental Lock option in the custom menu.

i got a modchip put into my ps2 recently and what happens is, when you put a copied ps1 game, it works, but the orange screen comes up for copied ps2 games. does some1 know why copied ps1 games work and why ps2's don't. help me out here.

As stated in the beginning of this thread:

"Q) My PS2 with the Magic 3.1 won't boot all games like it's supposed to.
    A) If your PS2 is a v7 then it will not boot all games. If you have any other version, then it could be a number of other reasons that it won't boot. "

    Why is this?
I have not seen this mentioned before, and I am having no success in playing any of my backups on my v7 with swap magic 3.3.

I wish I would have caught this before I invested in this, but still, what is the reasoning?

It's a light orange screen that comes up saying "Please insert a Playstation or Playstation2 format disc".
This only comes when I put in a PS2 copied game, but copied PS1 games work. It's a weirdass problem. I was wondering you know if it needs extensive modifications to the chip installation or is minor?

Why do you bother posting here? You aren't wanted and that was very rude.

Well, I, a newbie, just read that whole thread from pg 1-7 and gotta say, props to Ender88. You obviously know your stuff.

Im a big gaming fan, but really arent that big into PS2 (time constraints, life etc..) I have basic software, and knowledge of modding (modded my PS1 a LONG time ago). This FAQ and msg board in general have helped a lot so I just wanted to say thanks.

The only DVD burder I currently have access to is in a Macintosh Laptop (a sweet one at that). Is there any known software/methods for duplicating ps2 games (or DVDs in general) on the Macintosh platform? If there was a Mac version of DVD Decrypter that would seem to be ideal, but is there?

[bold] EDIT [/bold] - just found the MAC Ripping forum...So much to learn
