I previously posted about probs with my new 107 using datawrite red top. I managed to write to 22, out of 50 discs, which I thought was crap, but served me right for buying cheap media! My 107 has now been flashed with the hacked firmware (v 1.05) and to my utter amazement, wrote to 27 of the remaining 28 discs at 4x. Although I'm happy about that I'm sticking to my ritek g04's which spin merrily at 8x for perfect back-ups, and wont be purchasing cheap media again. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all on this forum for their help (as I am also now a convert to dvd shrink, having confined xcopy to the bin) but in particular [bold] Oriphus [/bold] for his assistance in pointing me in the right direction when deciding which drive to buy, and taking the time to email me, and help me out with my problems. You are a credit to the forum! Stumbling across 'Afterdawn' has got to be one of the best moves I ever made!
