Ok, after the notorious "321" thread killed my IE last night (it had yesterday just over 500 messages), I built a splitting into smaller pages in our forums. So, now all threads are split into 25 messages/page chunks which eases the browsing, specially with slower connections. The "thread has been updated" thingy doesn't understand to go to the correct page yet, but I'll change this and implement some other "most requested" features to the reminder in coming days (or weeks, depends on other stuff..).
And a month later my friend, and the split-page function works just fine! I still don't think it goes to the final page in the series though (small matter), one just clicks on the latest page number. So *that's* why you implemented this feature! (the original 321 thread). At 500 messages, your IE failed. (strange) My IE (version 6) loaded in the whole thing at close to 1000 entries no problem.
