okay, here it goes... i recently broke my PS2'S power/eject ribbon while trying 2 CLEAN THE INTERIOR OF THE SYSTEM , but acidentally removed the power/eject ribbon, WHICH HAD HAPPENED B4 ,SO i easily put it back in but the ps2 wont work anymore.. infact i bought a new ribbon(but no new power/eject switch), but it still wont work.... out of desperation, i even tried 2 swith sides of the ribbon but 2 no avail.. ' SOME1 PLZ HELPPPPPPPPPP!!!!! THANX IN ADVANCE//...
I think you blew some fuses! That happened to me three times and I decided to buy one and dont mess with it no more! Where did you get your ribbon?
does the PS2 power up at all? The ribbon should just have to do with ejecting the tray, or turning it on from standby mode, also from on to standby mode. do the lights on the power/eject buttons light up when you plugged in the new ribbon?
LOOK,ITS ALL HAPPENED B4, N I FIXED IT ALRIGHT..... BUT THIS TIME IT DOESNT EVEN POWERUP AT ALL... IM TRYING 2 CONSIDER GETTING A NEW SWITCH, BUT I WANNA B SURE 1ST.. I APPRECIATE THE FEEDBACK...
but how,i barely touched a thing.... forgive my frustration but i obviously have never felt so helpless..
I cant help you out with this one cause I blew up the fuses of three ps2s that I had and never did nothing! I bought me new ps2 and started a new life with it! LOL! I have the other 3 still! The lasers of all three are fine but I need the fuses! I guess im gonna sell the lasers on ebay!
gosh, i guess yur right.. PS>> , if any1 out there got some alternate solution, plz hit me back btw, thanx 4 the feedback dude.
Well like I told you, I didnt want to mess with my other PS2s, so I dont kno if there is another way to fix it! I guess you can replace the fuses but I dont kno where you can get em at! And I was just telling you to buy another PS2 because if you fix this broken one I know you gon have more problems with it like in the next 10 days you have fixed it! So Like I told you get a new ps2 and if you can ($$$$$) install a Flip Top or get the new slimline pstwo! That way you can clean the lens without taking the risk of opening the ps2! And never open the ps2 (if you are getting a new one)LOL! That is called Experience!LOL!
Highly doubt you blew a fuse. A ps2 can be totally disassembled in less than 5 minutes. And that is the best way to plug the ribbon back in.
I found fuses at saveware.com ...but the idiot who runs the place never responds. His name is Don Rieb.... why don'r people respond?!
ok i have a same problem yet simpler...when i was trying to clean out the interior of my ps2, i accidentally broke the ribbon connecting the ps2 to the eject/on buttons....it is still attached to the buttons, but i dont know where to attach it to the ps2...any ideas?
