Recently installed the Hyper X modchip in my V1.5 xbox and tried to flash it with the Cromwell Bios 2.4 on a cd-r. The Hyper X bios screen message indicates the chip is being flashed and runs thru two progress bars (amber then green) then the xbox abruptly shuts off. When I turn it back on it reloads to the Hyper X bios screen like nothing happen. Does anybody have an idea what I'm doing wrong?
you're flashing the same BIOS back that it had on it to start with and amazingly enough, it's working perfect the way you're doing it. you need what is called a 'hacked' BIOS (more specifically X2 5035) that will load backups, the Cornwell will not boot backups, you need to do a bit more educating yourself on modchips my friend. kc
