Ok, so if I theoretically had Season 5 of the Sopranos on my PC, and I wanted to make a home-made DVD box set type thing, how would I go about it?
I guess I need to use DVD authoring tools to make the menus and such like right?
But I could live without the menus and shit if I could just burn 3 or 4 episodes per DVD.
I don't really want to use DVDSanta to make one disc episodes with the avi's, so any help would be appreciated folks.

what format are the files in now/
what programs do you have on your pc for backing up multimedia?
    what are your pc stats?
    what media are you using?

Sorry not a mind reader, it is very hard for people to answer hypothetical posts if you dont supply all the hypotheticals at the start when you post.

    The files are in .avi
I've got TMPGEnc for avi-mpg conversion and DVD authoring
I've got DVDShrink and DVDSanta and Nero for burning.

Ok, so I use TMPGEnc to convert the avi's to mpeg's, and I author them to include menus and what not with TMPGEnc DVD author and get a [bold]huge[/bold] file.
Can I use DVD shrink to get the size down to around 4 gig?
Or am I doing something totally wrong from the get-go?

there ia a simpler way.As all the files are avi.Just download VSO divx to dvd. This a relatively simple program. All you have to do is direct your computer to where all your files are.
2.high light all the files you want to encode
3.Then click ok and it will batch all of them to one file output
4.Which is an mpeg2 or dvd movie format.
5.Now add the files to tmpgenc dvd author
6.Add your menus and finishing touches
    7.Then use your burning app.

How big is the file when you finish encoding.
Shrink and or tmpgenc dvd author + nero = burn
just watch the size of your output, i would suggest you custom the output to 4300meg.
If its bigger just open the batch file and burn half on to one disc and create 1/2 on another.

Thanks a lot man. That Divx to DVD app is excellent!!
It gives me a decent sized Video_TS folder so I can fit 3 or 4 eps on one DVD.
    Just what I needed.

    glad you have joy.

I thought this would of being quicker than using tmpgenc encoder, and there are less setting to take in.
