Well I've read the thread over and over regarding "xbins" and I cant get on.. I open it, enter my personal info., choose the IRCnet, choose server after server (including the one closet to me) which there are only 2 in the US,,, washington and NJ.., click CONNECT, and so far so good.. the problem is on the rt. column regardless of the FEW servers I've tried, I AM THE ONLY ONE ON IT... No one to answer my MSG XBINS !LIST..... NO "red named channel" to click on to give me a username, password, and ftp server... WHATS UP WITH THIS!!! 2nd and almost most IMPORTANT... I just purchased a new 360 with the benQ drive... Thru all of my searches it looks like without opening up the xbox, the PCI 6421L PCI SATA card is what I need.... Does this sound about right here??????????????????? 3rd and most important: Once again I've read the threads, printed them, and have begun to study them and I tell ya, this flashing thing on the benQ drive seems way out of my league.. I've downloaded dosflash 1.3 beta (and unzipped it) which contains dosflash 32 as a windows exe. icon and dosflash 16 but that one doesnt appear to be executable.. I've also found "BenQ_iXtremev1.1.rar" firmware from a site other than "XBINS" so I hope its legitimate... I just dont understand how in the hell to put this all together.. If I boot my pc from a flash drive in the bios, how do i make it bootable??? Its just sssoooo many questions, i feel way way over my head....... Can someone point me in the right direction??? Regarding burning, I havent done it yet buy have the pioneer 112d to burn with IMGBURN and the sh-d162c to rip using xbcreator 2.4 so i think im ready there.... just unsure about questions 1-3 ABOVE!! I want to RIP out my hair at this point...............
i felt the same way when i first thought about flashing the BenQ. Way over my head. My Motherboard on my pc is a nforce 4 with built in sata plugins, so i didn't need anything special. i also had purchased a Xeno Top Gear and installed that prior to trying this flash. plugged my sata cord from the Xeno Top Gear to the motherboard on my pc, turned on the xbox360, started dosflash32, shut off the 360 for 1 second turned it back on, and then read my original firmware. upon reading my original firmware it asked me where to save it. i saved it in muliple spots under the name orig.bin. i then closed flash32 and copied my orig.bin to the iXtreme fast folder. i ran the Make iXtreme batch file and it made my new hacked firmware called benq-ix.bin. Take note that with the BenQ package C4eva made for us, the Drive key from our BenQ is automatically extracted from the original firmware and inserted into our hacked firmware. all by running the make iXtreme batch file. after i had my hacked firmware made, i ran dosflash32 again and selected write firmware. from there i selected benq-ix.bin and it proceeded to erase my firmware and write my new one. and that's pretty much it. the reason i got a Xeno top gear is so that when updates come out i don't have to take my 360 apart. i just plug the sata cord into my xeno top gear and i'm good. I'm not an expert on this, but i understand it now and it's not that hard.
thx.. what about my issue with downloading from xbins??? please read my post up above.. i've followed the threads others have posted to a "T"..
xbins i can't help you with. i have the program but have never used it. wat are you trying to get from there?
think i got "xbins".. just unclear about the PCI SATA card since my dell desktop does not have sata built in capabilities..
You said you used a Xeno Top Gear to flash your Benq drive I was going to buy one and I asked the company that was selling it if it would flash the benq drive and they replied no. I have the Xbox 360 Elite that has the Benq drive what do I need to get the job done?
