I started backing up my DVD's a little over a year ago. After doing some research, I purchased 1 click DVD Copy. It worked nicely and was So easy to use, very intuitive. However, after about 4 or 5 months, I noticed that I could not copy many of the more recent titles.

I emailed 1 click support and they said that I might want to purchase anyDVD decrypter as it is updated much more frequently than dvd43 (the decrypter they reccomend to use with their product). So after shelling out the $59 for one click, I had to shell out more money for anyDVD (which ended up being a great move).

Then 8 months later 1 click stopped sending out free updates to its product. Rather, they started making 1 click users update their license for $19/year. When I purchased the software over a year ago I was told that updates were free, not free for a year. I emailed tech support again and they told me that I must not have read my agreement. Unfortunately, they buried renewal terms deep in the EULA (that most people like myself don't read). SO surpise, surprise, 1Click DVD Copy wanted more money.

This time I decided not to pay them. Rather, I decided that I would try slysoft's product. They offer free lifetime updates which will keep me from paying a renewal fee every year. Too bad I didn't do this from the start. CloneDVD2 and anyDVD work together perfectly.

Anyway, HUGE thumbs down for 1clickDVD copy. Easy product to use, but I didn't appreciate what I considered to be unethical selling practices.

I cant see your point, didnt you get what you paid for.Didnt you get a piece of software that accomplished what you sought it should do.It copied your dvds to a degree.Fair enough it didnt do the later or newer encryptions but it did everything it should do.So when you are asked to pay a small fee to help with its development and thats a paltry fee compared to what the people who make these programs get, you have a whine. Please if you thought agreement was coming from me your dead wrong.

Next time you have the option to try software before you have to pay for it.Do so.Then consider your options.

A great piece of software that is free is shrink and to burn maybe try imgburn. You wont need to part with that hard earned cash, just download it off the net

To all you software developers keep up the good work.

Actually, I don't feel like I got what I paid for in 1 click DVD Copy. One click claimed that:

    1. It could copy any DVD when coupled with dvd43
    2. Updates were free

As it turns out, neither of the above 2 statements was true. And I think it is awful to make it appear like someone is getting something for free (like updates) only to tell them different in the small print. That's called being deceptive.

In any case, I am completely happy now that I found Slysoft products (CloneDVD2 and anyDVD). Lesson learned.

    a few points:
1- if you have anydvd, you don't have to pay for the 1clickdvd update. just make sure to update anydvd to the latest version, i'm still using 1clickdvd 42913 and i have done all the latest movie.

2- if anydvd for some reason stop sending you update e-mail, just go to the home page and dowmload the latest one, the will not ask you to pay for it again if you have the key that you paid for.

    3- dvd43free is garbage.

4- most desagree with some of you here, 1clickdvd is a very reliable program, it has work great for me.

1 Click DVD Copy is a good program. I just didn't like that:

    1. They make it sound like the best program on the market and that you won't need to purchase anything else, when in reality, you really need to purchase anyDVD because dvd43 is garbage.

    2. I also didn't like that when I purchased the product, they made it seem like updates were free forever. But that did not end up being the case.

The program is very easy to use and convenient and made great copies. I just didn't like the way they were selling the product. If you go to their website now, it is CLEARLY labelled that updates are only free for a year. But this was not the case when I first purchased. Had I known that 1 Click was gonna charge me a renewal fee every year, I probably would not have bought it in the first place. Also, had I known that the free decrypter that one click suggests you use with their product is garbage, I probbaly would not have bought it.

Overall, my experience with Slysoft products has just been much better. I also understand that not everyone is going to feel the same way I do. I'm just venting and trying to keep others from having the same bad experience that I had.

    @ejrinva.
on point 1, you are right. 1click is good, not the best.
on ponit 2, right again. the shouldn't be charging for what is really
an update, not an upgrate. and yes, the originally said, free updates for life.
yes, slysoft's clonedvd2 and anydvd are a great combo but, 1clickdvd has clonedvd2 beaten on two areas; ripper for scratched discs and quality.

ps: shrink and/or nero recode2 using deep analysis and ACE can't only be beaten by Rebuilder+ an encoder. but any of these three programs would take much longer than the other transcoders.

I wish I had read your thread before I purchased 1 clickdvd about two hours ago. I am very dissapointed with their product and I feel their Ad's are very misleading to say the least.I requested a refund adout an hour ago but allready I am being put off.I truely understand what you are saying.

Sorry to see another "1 click" victim. Of course, if you go ahead and purchase anyDVD, 1 click dvd copy works well with anyDVD. And with that combination, you might need to keep upgrading and paying their renewal year after year.

    Good luck!

Another way is to download your files and then you wont need anydvd. All you'll need is a good encoder and a burning engine

Don't really want to seem to be bucking the trend here but I have been using dvd43 since 3.9.0 came out and 1click works great with it. As the latest version of dvd43 only removes the CSS protection and nothing else you really need to have the latest version of 1click to ensure that the CPRx technology is upto date and able to cope with some of the latest movies that are employing these 'bad authoring techniques' that seem to cause many problems.

Bubbles...anyDVD is clearly superior to dvd43. If you haven;t bought it or tries it, it is SO worht the $29. And for that $29, you get lifetime updates with anyDVD.

to boot, it gets updated MUCH more frequently than anyDVD. Whereas dvd43 failed me many times, anyDVD has never failed me nor anyone I have told to purchase it. My uncle has backed up 100 movies with anyDVD in the last 6 months.

dvd43 is OK for a freeare. But the version you are using today will soon be out of date and on't be updated for some time. Whereas anyDVD has been updated something like 3 times in the last month. Even my 1 click DVD tech support person (Jimmy) told me that I should purchase anyDVD.

Others have also told me that with anyDVD, you do not need to buy the lastest version of 1 click. So rather than pay the $19 per year, you can just buy anyDVD and use it with the old version of 1 click.

I have had anydvd for around 18months but choose to use dvd43 most of the time. If it fails me I can then send the details to LG so that they add a CPRx update, so no need for dvd43 to be updated. All they are doing is adding fixes to 1click like what slysoft do to anydvd

    bubbles,

That's really odd. Because when dvd43 would fail me and I would email 1 click tech support, they wouldn't do that for me.

In fact, their tech support guy actually suggested that I buy anyDVD. I posted the email above in a separate post.
