i am having alot of trouble burnin avi video to a dvd-r

im not sure on how to burn a .avi video file i have to a dvd-r blank...nero tells me file is to big for dvd-r..will dvd shrink work for me???plz help

 

Convert the avi files to dvd files, if bigger than 4.37Gb you may have to compress with Shrink. Convert with DivxtoDVD http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_encoders/vso_divxtodvd.cfm

 

i tried to use shrink program but it cant find the files..

 

I suspect you're doing things out of order:

1) FIRST, You need to convert your AVI files to DVD-VOB files with DivxToDvd.

2) If you have more than 4.37 Gb (of DVD-VOB files outputted from DivxToDVD), then compress with DVD shrink.

3) Finally, burn DVD-VOB files to a blank DVD-R with Nero.

 

ok can i just burn after i do the .avi file to dvd format???

 

Yes you can burn if the files are 4.37Gb or less. If the files are more than 4.37Gb then you must compress them with DVD Shrink
